Megalodon Expeditions Featured on the Travel Channel
The Travel Channel sent a film crew to join Mark Renz of Megalodon Expeditions as part of their series titled “Cash and Treasures”. The first year, host Becky Worley spent several days snorkeling and screen-washing in the Peace River searching for the sometimes elusive teeth of Carcharocles megalodon. The second year, we had the pleasure of Kirstengum as host.
We were glad to participate and hope people will look first at the scientific value of a fossil before they think about it monetarily. Megalodon sharks teeth are fairly common in various parts of the world. A 7-inch plus tooth in perfect condition can fetch upwards of $20,000. Science could probably care less about that type of tooth. But they would be interested in a potential new species of shark or other fossil. In collecting fossils, we hope you will consider the greater public good if you find an unusual specimen.
